10-Day Safari Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Colombo
Arrive in Colombo and receive a warm Sri Lankan welcome. Transfer to your hotel and relax after your flight. In the evening, enjoy a city tour featuring colonial architecture, local markets, and seaside views along Galle Face Green.
Overnight: Colombo
Day 2 – Colombo to Wilpattu National Park
Travel north to Wilpattu National Park, Sri Lanka’s largest and oldest national park, famous for its leopard population and natural lakes known as “villus.” Enjoy your first thrilling evening safari through dense jungle terrain.
Wildlife: Leopards, elephants, spotted deer, crocodiles, and jungle cats
Overnight: Safari lodge near Wilpattu
Day 3 – Full-Day Safari in Wilpattu
Spend a full day exploring the wilderness with morning and evening game drives. Discover hidden forest trails and quiet watering holes while learning about the park’s ecosystem from experienced naturalists.

Day 4 – Cultural Triangle & Sigiriya
Journey toward the Cultural Triangle and visit the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, an ancient rock citadel rising dramatically above the jungle. In the afternoon, enjoy a village experience and optional wildlife safari in nearby Minneriya.

Day 5 – Kandy & Hill Country
Travel to Kandy, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka. Visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth and continue through scenic tea plantations into the cool hill country.
Enjoy breathtaking mountain landscapes and tea estate views along the way.
Overnight: Nuwara Eliya
Day 6 – Scenic Train Journey to Ella
Take one of the world’s most beautiful train rides from Nanu Oya to Ella, passing waterfalls, tea fields, and mist-covered mountains. Spend the afternoon exploring Ella’s nature trails and viewpoints.

Day 7 – Yala National Park Safari
Head south to Yala National Park, renowned for having one of the highest leopard densities in the world. Enjoy an exciting sunset safari through rugged landscapes of lagoons, scrub forests, and grasslands.

Overnight: Safari camp near Yala
Day 8 – Yala to Mirissa
Enjoy an early morning safari before continuing to the tropical coastal town of Mirissa. Relax on golden beaches or enjoy fresh seafood by the ocean.

Day 9 – Galle & Southern Coast
Travel along the southern coastline to the historic fort city of Galle. Explore cobbled streets, colonial architecture, boutique cafés, and oceanfront ramparts.
Return to Colombo in the evening.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your departure flight, taking home unforgettable memories of Sri Lanka’s wildlife, landscapes, and culture.
